We were delighted to attend the awards and to see Collaton Park recognised for its thoughtful and community-focused approach — acknowledgement that means a great deal to everyone involved in bringing the project forward.

Collaton Park is designed to set a new standard for rural housing, combining a variety of homes with community amenities and workspace — all delivered without public funding. Following the granting of full planning permission last year, the development includes 57 affordable homes, representing 46% of the overall scheme. These range from social rent properties and affordable rent-to-buy homes to custom-build plots and shared ownership options, helping to create a diverse and inclusive community.

The wider plans also feature community allotments, a welcoming café and 6.5 hectares of public parkland, providing spaces for leisure, recreation and connection.

The development was praised by judges for its approach, noting that the team “focused on creating a vibrant, connected community, not just building houses.”
